an unlikely comparison not using "like", "as" or "than."

My heart, my heart
Kickstart my heart
Always got the cops
Coming after me
Custom built bike doing 103
My heart, my heart
Kickstart my heart

(Pre-Chorus)
Ooh, are you ready girls?
Ooh, are you ready now?

(Chorus)
Ooh, yeh
Kickstart my heart
Give it a start
Ooh, yeh, baby
Ooh, yeh
Kickstart my heart
Hope it never stops
Ooh, yeh, baby

(Motley Crue, www.lyrics.com)

In the lyrics to this song Motley Crue is comparing their hearts to motorbikes. Metaphors and similes are sometimes used to better understand the writer. They are also used for interest and dramatic effect in all forms of writing. This comparison suggests that maybe this woman Vince Neil is singing about has driven one of the band member crazy for her and due to the near obsession with bikes in the eighties they used it as a metaphor to describe her control over him and how she gets him going like kickstarting a motorcycle.
